What is the purpose of a traction strap?

The unique feature of a kinetic traction sling is its construction and elastic properties. It is made from strong materials, such as nylon, and incorporates elastic fibers, usually rubber or polyethylene, inside the strap.

When used, the kinetic tow strap absorbs the kinetic energy generated by the moving tow vehicle. This energy is then gradually released to provide additional traction to the immobilized vehicle, allowing it to be released more easily.
