When a vehicle turns, the outside wheel travels a greater distance than the inside wheel, so it must turn faster.

On all vehicles, it is the differential placed between the wheel shafts that allows this difference in speed, while maintaining the full driving force at the wheels. However, with a conventional differential, as soon as one wheel has no grip, it turns in a vacuum while the other one stops. Everyone, especially off-roaders, has experienced this problem.

The ARB lock replaces the original differential with an internally locking differential activated at will by a button on the dashboard. Once the differential is locked, only one wheel with traction will be enough to start the vehicle again. On the road, when deactivated, the lock does not modify the vehicle's reactions, unlike other locking systems that are permanently active.

For 10 years, its simplicity and flexibility of use linked to its effectiveness and its robustness make it the best device on the market. Complete kit available for front or rear axle (depending on vehicle)

How does it work?

The compressor produces and stores air under pressure. Using the button on the dashboard, the user releases the air which is guided through a flexible tube to the differential.

There, the air activates a set of joints and pistons to drive a large ring gear that connects the two planetary gears. The half-shafts then turn at the same speed;

By pressing the switch again, the user releases the pressure, springs return the gear ring and release the planets. The half-shafts are released. The very fast system can be repeated at will.
